Get out of my kitchen...

The distance between having it all, and not, is usually only as great as you think....

Stabilizer week was just OK...the rest was nice and welcomed, but in some sort of distorted (demented) mindset, I feel better when I am not at rest. The reality of it is that the body needs rest.

Saturday's workout was incredibly difficult for me. Not exactly sure what it was...possibly the few glasses of wine at dinner on Friday night; possibly the nutrition on the ride...or the run. The first leg of my bike was great...tailwind, 22 mph average...the road back into the wind was trying...to the tune of me screaming four letter obscenities at the top of my lungs. I am pretty certain that I didn't have enough in the tank either. The only other variable was no music for the first time in eons, which certainly changes the dynamic.

On to the run...I started off a little slow but felt decent for the majority of the run...though getting motivated was a challenge for the better part of the run. At about mile 12, the rapid fade set in...gels made me gag, stomach was off and my black shirt was tie-dyed salty style...Mile 14 calves knotted up, I alternated between light poles, run/walk for a spell...and then it was all walk. Ate $20 worth of food at Tokyo Joe's when I was done...

Earlier in the week, I had a chat with my blog-less buddy, Brian. He shared his perspective on this exact workout one year ago for him. Now I agree...a hard reckoning. Time to refocus and get all the bad mojo out of my kitchen.
