Yesterday was also the Ironman World Championships in Kona. For me Kona is a pipe dream or lottery long shot, but for a few of my friends its reality. You could say that I am proud of the company we keep.
For Craig, yesterday was a test of courage. Having been hit by a car less than two weeks ago, he swam faster than last year and rode like the wind, and while he didn't cross the line in the end, the fact that he toed the line at all embodies the true spirit of a champion.
For BJ, his dreams of Kona are immediate, as he sets his sights on qualifying at IMAZ...he is a pillar of heart and grit, dedicated to a fault and works harder than anyone I know...
...and for Craig Wilson. Speed, strength, raw talent, is already thinking about where he can lose 28 minutes and 48 seconds so he can make the trip to the Big Island next year.
Pretty damn cool. Studs. Friends.
For me, slow and steady gets me there...
