Tough week

Sick as a dog. Add to that 4 days of travel for work, definitely a tough week for me. I am a horrible sick person...whiny, mopey, cranky, pouty...the list goes on. Being away from home just compounded it as I had no one to bitch too.

Training was an absolute chore. I mustered the energy to swim 4,000 meters one day, at a snail's pace. With all the sinus pressure in my ears and nose I thought my head might explode...thankfully, it didn't.

For the week I managed to get thru about 80% of my training plan, with some of it at about 20% intensity. I did, however, manage a few breakthroughs - my longest racewalk to date, a 10 miler; also, I passed my first runner in Long Beach walking at about a 10:20 pace (grantedI had a tail wind, but still it felt really sweet!!); and nailed a 10:36/mile on my brick this morning. SO, even though I have felt like total garbage for most of the week - mentally and physically...not all was lost.

I think it's time for a snack and a nap.

dude, that means rest when you're feeling sick. Nice job though on getting the workouts done. You'd be 7 weeks out from CDA with me??? Went by crazy fast. Hope all's well at the F's.
