91/1

Since I will be out of town in LA for work for the week, I had to shuffle a few workouts. My boss was cool with letting me take part of the day, and as such, yesterday I did my long ride. I couldn't have picked a better day. It just about perfect, 74 degrees, sunny. If I could have changed one thing, it would have been the afternoon wind…but who’s complaining. I am really glad I did it yesterday as its freakin’ snowing right now.

91 miles on the bike, with a 1 mile run-off-the-ride. Since I couldn't or didn’t want to haul around enough nutrition for the whole ride I did 2 loops of 45.5 miles. Straight up 95th, north thru Erie, Lafayette, into Boulder…up Old Stage into Left Hand Canyon and back down Route 36 home…I grabbed a turkey wrap out of the fridge, 2 bottles of Perpeteum and some gels and did it again. The second time up Old Stage was a teence less fun than the first.

It seems to me that that first mile off the bike into the run is going to be a bit awkward and heavy, no matter what. The change in motion, for the body and the mind is hard to describe…goofy, wobbly, silly. As soon as I got home from the run, the UPS guy had a package for me…my compression tights…ahhhh! Perfect timing…I slept in them and am wearing them now for the flight… "Chancho, When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun.".

I am still holding out for my Infinit supplements, which I am really looking forward to…I am pretty tired of the chalky taste of Perpeteum, especially when its warm. Even though the "slushy" did get me thru many winter rides, after several hours, it is down-right nauseating.

Last thing to report, new gear…Arundel carbon bottle cages ROCK! A teence on the pricey side but as we all know good gear ain't cheap and cheap gear ain't good…Amen. These guys have got it down rock solid!

I'm crying I'm laughing so hard! Brian will not wear his compression tights in our house ever again without there being a sassy Nacho Libre guitar rif as he enters a room.

Thanks for the giggle! Petra
