Lovin' the snorkel...

My first 25 yards with the snorkel went a little like this...suck in a ton of water. Gag. Choke. Panic. Regroup. Panic. Run out of breath. Stop. Regroup. Flail. Grab the wall. I must have looked like a real boner, and to boot the pool was full...at least 3 to a lane.

After a few minutes, I was working it out. Very nice. Taking all the pointers from my recent lesson and trying to apply them I felt like I was on to something. We'll see with the next video if I am still washing windows. I do know one thing, the snorkel will, without question, be an integral part of my training from last Friday forward.

Following my swim, I put in 26 miles on the Dean...man, have I missed my baby. The P2C is definitely my sports car....but the Dean, that's my Cadillac. It was incredible how the position in the saddle was so different, the first few miles were awkward, but soon enough I settled in.

After the ride, I scrambled around, running errands...also got a 12/27 on the P2C to prepare for the hills in Couer d'Alene. When I got home, I did a few chores and changed the flats on our cruisers. K and I took a spin around the hood, ringing our bike bells at everyone we passed. Fun.

My week coming up will be a challenge. I had to shuffle most of my workouts as I will be in LA for work for 6 days. That said, I managed to get an oceanfront hotel so my long run will be on the beach...and there is an outdoor Olympic size pool 2 miles away...so all is not lost!

Next week looks like this: 6,500 yards swim, 155 bike, 32 run.

Interested in getting a snorkel...do they sell them in Boulder? Will be cheaper than the prices they are here.....

Looking forward to hanging out with you all in a couple of weeks.....
