Stabilizer is over. It ended with Saturday's ride. 83 miles. I headed out at about 9:30 am north to Longmont, then west on Highway 66 (which, much to my chagrin is not part of the infamous "route") to Lyons, then up the canyon towards Estes Park. One of my favorite rides....quintessential Colorado, a picturesque grind. I turned towards home just a few miles shy of Allen's Park. For a spell, the wind to my back was incredible, almost effortless mid/high-20's all the way back to Longmont. All-in-all, 4:56 on the day.
A quick 20 minute nap, a little tooling around and we were off to Jen Howie's "surprise" birthday party for some well earned beers and tasty treats....including carrot cake! It was great to hear everybody's take on the wind and how it totally handed us our butts for the umpteenth time this year...I am glad to know its not only me. 5 beers later, K and I didn't get home until 11pm...a rarity indeed.

great job on the ride - i am so excited to ride outside this weekend. better NOT be windy!!
Crazy wind day for sure, but not as bad as that week before. I rode a few loops around 75th and 63rd, and had to ride Monarch again heading west a few times. It was ridiculous. Finished up inside, just couldnt' deal with the wind. I'll have to head up to estes way soon. Peak to Peak as rides get longer and longer. Nice job on the 83 miles. and the lawn, i'm sure it's the greenest on the block. have a great week training.
