Running Arkansas

So usually when I say I am going to Arkasas for business, the most common response is "ewww!" But its really not that terrible, especially this time of year...Spring is here, grass is green, flowers are in bloom...(NO WIND) and its at sea level.vIt is an incredible place to run...in part, because the air is thick... making my lungs feel HUGE...and in part, because it has short steep and rocky rolling, hilly trails. Every time I am here I say to myself..."self...you need to do more trail running"...to which I always agree.

My favorite run here is Lake Atalanta...named after the Greek "huntress". Its a great run...slightly less than 2 miles per loop, and an ass-kicker. The picture is a portion of the lake circa 1935, when it was the primary water supply source for Northwest Arkansas; and a Satellite View.

On the day, I had a 3250 swim in Colorado before leaving and 5 loops of Lake Atalanta...tomorrow rest and a massage.
