Earning it...

This Ironman journey is going to be hard earned...it seems like thru the last 20 or so weeks of training I am re-learning and re-thinking what I need to do to get to the finish line. It will certainly take a bit of adaption from years' past. More focus on the swim and bike (though I have only been in open water a few times this year). The walking component is still a struggle for me to digest mentally but whatevs.

My knees are cranky, but not terrible. In order to calm them down a teence, I got my first of a series of five Hyalgen injections and a cortisone shot to reduce some low grade swelling. So far, so good...It's kinda weird..like I expect a little pain...almost a wee phantom pain...hard to tell if its in my knee or my head almost.

Last week 's highlights - 9,000m of swimming; 14 endurance (walk/run) miles on the trail; Sunrise Century (in 6:23)

Next week - Boulder 70.3...will totally be a good gauge of my fitness to see where I am at.

Other haps...Big changes on the horizon on the job front.
A delicate combo of slow and steady and onward and upward...
