Carter Lake...

Saturday 8am, 32 degrees, BJ, Brian, Craig, Phil and I met at 76th and SBR for a ride to Carter Lake.

One of my favorite local rides...some prime rolling hills, beautiful farm land and then Carter Lake. Nestled up on the high plains it is a true gem (as can be seen from the sunset pic to your left).

There's a little burner of a climb to get to the lake...relatively short, relatively steep. BJ (aka Billygoat) did some repeats; I mustered four, BJ - 5...he's one hell of a climber, he probably could have done it all afternoon. We hooked back up with the rest of the group and headed for home....into a crazy wind, unrelenting. Craig headed back to Longmont when we hit Boulder, he did 50-ish; a light day for him...as he had a race on Sunday (Koppenberg).

Just under 75 miles, then a 1 mile run-off-ride...the a 1,200 swim. Swimming last for sure sucks.

We wrapped up the day at the Howie's for some libations, killer queso and to check out this year's team uni's. SWEET, but as always tri tops and me don't mix...XXXL sausage...Are you kidding me? We had a little laugh. Thankfully, Jen is going to give me the hook-up on some logos for the Zoot and just maybe we can dig up a 4X, and if not a sleeveless cycling jersey.

Sunday = Rest.
Next week = Stabilizer...ya baby!
