Monday, it became official. My road to Ironman is beginning again. I am craving the structure of planned workouts and need to make nutrition and stretching top priorities out of the gate, as well as taking the time to blog, so I can share and compare this years training to last.
Ironically Monday was also a rest day...which is never unwelcomed. Took Luna for a nice walk, grilled steak, sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts, had a few IPA's and a quiet evening with K, who is recovering nicely post op. Days like these will be fewer and more far between as we get closer to 9/13.
My first workout, a 5.5 mile tempo run in hellacious winds...40 mph I am told...going out it whisked me up the hill on my water tower loop only to pelt me with sand, dry-mouthed in cinder block shoes on the return. It's early March and 70 so I have no right to bitch. Last year I tried to make friends with the wind...learn to embrace it...didn't happen. Maybe this year, but I doubt it.

Nice job on Sunday. Solid run. Base work, slow and steady, time on the legs. Will pay off big for Ironman.
Dinner looked good, really good. But the beers will get you every time. Seeing that you're a Pizza Luva, the beer goes hand and hand so i doubt that will be cut back, right?
well lookie, look who is here...
I want in on the water tower lunch run soon.
